Elk Mountain Loop

Know before you go!

STAY ON THE TRAIL

Please don’t cut switchbacks! It causes erosion, destroys vegetation, and ruins the trail. Always ride in control.

PACK IT IN; PACK IT OUT

Most of our trailheads do not have trash facilities. Please be prepared to pack out all of your trash from the trail and trailhead.

GO BEFORE YOU GO

Bury human waste 6-8 inches deep. All toilet paper and wipes must be packed out. There is a restroom at the Stanley Lake Trailhead.

Description

This is a good medium length bike ride. The loop can be hiked as well but is usually biked. The trail follows both double track and single track. It is usually ridden clockwise but can be ridden either way. Climb up the dirt road leaving the Stanley Lake Trailhead Parking. There will be a left turn onto some single track that eventually will turn to a double track. Portions are pretty rocky.
