ACCESS: The Redfish Trailhead is very popular and serves many trails. Do not park in no parking zones. Please do not park off the side of the road in the sagebrush or other vegetation, it destroys the delicate alpine habitat.
Please stay on the board walk to help protect the creek and salmon spawning areas.
Most of our trailheads do not have trash facilities. Please be prepared to pack out all of your trash from the trail and trailhead.
The nearest restroom is by Redfish Lake and Redfish Lodge. The Redfish Visitor Center has a restroom open during business hours.
Trailhead: Fishhook Creek Nature Trail
Round trip: 0.25 miles
Elevation gain: 25 ft
Start at the Redfish Visitor Center by the top of the amphitheater. Hike down a slight hill and onto the boardwalk. This interpretive trail is a great spot to see osprey, songbirds, a beaver dam, and a beaver lodge. If you are lucky you might even see a beaver or a muskrat. The kokanee salmon spawn in Fishhook Creek in mid to late August.
