SIHA News and Events
Support SIHA’s critical summer work during Idaho Gives! With fewer USFS staff this summer, SIHA’s role welcoming and informing visitors about the Sawtooth National Recreation Area is more important than ever. SIHA’s Naturalists and Historic Specialists are our boots on the ground. They staff the Redfish Visitor Center and Stanley Museum and connect with thousands of visitors throughout the season:
- Providing free, educational programs every day mid-June through mid-September,
- Sharing information at trailheads about Wilderness regulations and Leave No Trace practices,
- Explaining food storage and campfire safety to campers,
- Writing blogs and developing social media content so folks can enjoy the Sawtooths from afar,
- Talking to visitors about trails, planning their adventures, events, plant and animal identification, way finding, and everything Stanley has to offer,
- Creating new cultural and natural history displays,
- and, all of this, while falling in love with the Sawtooths, just like the rest of us.
Your donation will directly support our summer crew. They provide visitors services and educational opportunities in the Sawtooth National Recreation Area (NRA).
Give at least $25 and you’ll be entered to win 2 passes to the 2025 Sawtooth Valley Gathering!
Mark your calendar for SIHA’s first ever online auction!
We have an exciting line-up of items you can bid on while supporting SIHA including tours with local experts, vacations to stunning destinations like Whistler and Puerto Vallarta, artisan goods, and so much more.

The online auction will be live from June 20 – 30. Keep an eye out for more details on our website and in upcoming emails! Join our email list below!
